USAID's Digital Strategy charts an Agency-wide approach to development in a rapidly evolving digital age and seeks to achieve and sustain open, secure, and inclusive digital ecosystems that contribute to broad-based, measurable development and humanitarian assistance outcomes. The Digital Development Advisor (DDA) initiative is one of 17 initiatives being implemented under the Digital Strategy.

Digital Development Advisors serve in USAID Missions and Bureaus as experts on digital ecosystems and provide guidance on anticipating, recognizing, and reacting to changes and opportunities in these ecosystems. In Missions, they are typically based in the Program Office. They serve as a resource to technical and support offices on digital development writ large, USAID’s digital work, and the implementation of USAID’s first-ever Digital Strategy.
